Yes I think Lakers 3-peat and I actually think it will be the easiest of the 3 at least in the west. The finals will be a war though.

Fo shizzle.

Still, refs gave the Lakers Game 3 in the 3rd quarter on the Celtics own home fucking court and Celts would have won if Perkins didn't rip up his leg (20+ offensive rebounds in Game 7 by the Lakers?!). I'll probably never get over that since I'm still not over the Pats losing the Colts in 2006 and the Giants in 2007.
People will forget how ridiculously close that series was and both, however ugly they may have played, played like they were good enough to be champs.
Sour grapes though, I know...and moot, because this is a Lakers board with obnoxious Laker fans.
The second one was to wolf cassidy because on the last post from the old boreds, he was talking about how much he hates the lakers and that pau is by far the mvp of the lakers.
Kobe's obviously the MVP of the Lakers (and still one of the most underrated: that may have a lot to do with being underrated)
But Pau Gasol was the MVP of the Finals...and for the playoffs, outside of the Suns series where Kobe was just amazing. He had maybe 2-3 bad games tops.
How do you not get the difference between the two?
Pau's the BEST PF in the league and a top 10 player.
Kobe's a top 3 player (LeBron, a healthy Wade) in the league...Durant most likely pushes Kobe out of the top 3 this year and becomes the best player in the league. He's my preseason pick for MVP.
I think the Lakers win their 3rd this year, although I'd be worried about Kobe going through another 82-game season + playoffs (Fisher too).
Heat would be my backup pick.
I don't think the Celtics have a shot (too old), but I LOVE their depth and feel they got one of the deepest benches in the league (Avery Bradley; Shaq; Jermaine O'Neal; Luke Harangody; Delonte West; kept Nate Robinson). They got a backup PG finally for Rondo in Bradley. Harangody will be able to play in this league for 10 years. West was the 2nd best player for the Cavs in 2007-2008 against the Celtics. Unbelievable defensive player (when guarding PG's).
I'll be rooting for the Celtics, Suns, Thunder, Bucks and I'll see how I feel about the Bulls.
I'll be rooting against the Lakers, Heat, Magic.
I will be laughing at the Knicks.

Apparently, Kevin Durant absolutely owned the competition in every game he was in.
Coach K said it was the best team he has coached and the most fun he had (consider this when he coached the 2008 team too). Guys were fun, unselfish, coachable, and played hard.
Sucks that we couldn't see it.
Plus, the guys on the 2008 team must have felt like shit about their experience.
Yes, you played in front of about a billion people at the Olympics.
But nobody back in the States caught the games because they were on at 6-8 in the morning.
I still need to get around to the Gold Medal game which was said to be a REALLY amazing and close game.

+1 for Durant leading the US to the Gold (something LeBron could never do =p).

Although I will say, the one game I watched was really boring, and it was a close game, too. (It was the USA/Spain game) I can't quite put my finger as to why. Maybe because it seemed sort of inevitable that USA was going to win and they weren't really doing it in an impressive manner? (except when Durant blocked 2 of the other team's 3 point attempts on their last possession. That was pretty badass.)
