new Game album is surprisingly really good, the best he has sounded since documentary. My only nitpick was he cut down the two 75minute albums into one INCREDIBLE album. First album is like 9 straight killers and then a little drop off with one good track near the end. Then the second disk is pretty solid throughout with a few great tracks. Trim the fat, even if it means cutting out some "good" tracks and make it a 18 track killer album - a la Chronic 2001.

Anyways, it's really good... I still like Dre and Kendrick's albums better, but this is very very good.

New Foals is aight...

New !!! (Chk Chk Chk) album is good, some really standout tracks and pretty consistent throughout.

Still listening to "Compton" almost every single day.

Going to see Game tomorrow, saw Kendrick and RxB/Circa last week... before this month is over, I will have gone to 7 concerts - that's probably more than even when I was in college/interning at Island and Capitol Records.

best of lists are starting to come out so I'm starting to get into what I'm missing and just buying them...

Just bought...
Adele; Carlie Rae Jepsen; Caspian; Dr Dre; Jamie XX
Hamilton SDTK (disappointed I won't be able to see this for awhile)

I'm late to Caspian: 'Gone in Bloom and Blough' from their last record I listen to at the gym often

Waiting for

Maybe check out...
the Arcs (Black Keys); Father John Misty; Jason Isbell; Sufjan Stevens; Wilco

Just can't get into/understand appeal (might be wrong or taken the proper time)...
Deafheaven; Drake; Lana Del Rey

the consensus #1 poick that I can't get into...
-Kendrick Lamar
basically feels like it's not for me (it's for black people), I don't like poetry/slam or otherwise much. Chase said it better than I could: these just don't feel like songs. I see the ambition, but it's not good enough.

What I enjoyed...
-Weeknd ('the Hills'; 'Can't Feel my Face')
-Brandon Flowers
-Skrillex/Diplo's Bieber song 'Where Are You Now?' (Riley of Thrice got me into it with the NY Times background to the making of the song that is cool)
-Wonder Years
-Story So Far (not great, but OK enough)
-Leon Bridges (just OK, but clear talent)
-Ryan Adams covering Taylor Swift (LOVE this)
-Dustin Kensrue

2016 can't wait for that I know of
-Brian Fallon's solo record-'Painkillers' (Gaslight Anthem) -wish I could see him live in Connecticut but might be too far from me and I'm hoping Pats don't play a playoff game on that day
-Explosions in the Sky

Brand New; Deftones; Glassjaw (always teased); Kings of Leon

fucking Brand New released an old thing they did about a decade ago on cassette tape.

I've literally only heard of 2^ of those and definitely didn't listen to either. I must be out of touch with the indie scene or you must be super weird!

I don't know if I checked out 10 albums this year that I absolutely loved - Kendrick, Dre, Modest Mouse, !!!, Gary Clark Jr. were favorites... liked tracks off a few others.

I did go to an insane amount of concerts this year though... best shows were QOTSA, Gary Clark Jr, Thievery Corporation and other favorite shows from Thrice, RxB, Gogol, Kamasi, Kendrick, Incubus, Modest Mouse. Saw seven concerts last month (November) - I literally don't remember a time I ever did that.
